Good News..

Our inverter is repaired, plumbed back in, and fully operational again. It sounds much quieter than before, too. No engineer's report, or information as to what caused the fault. But now it's back onboard, we are free to slip the ropes and travel.

Cold start worry, a thing of the past. The engine started up beautifully after a five second burst from Steve's heat gun, down the air filter. Wehey!

Sheena will be here in an hour.

  2. Hi Graham. I think we'll be venturing up to Lechlade first. Sheena likes steering around bends, and it would be nice to see a bit more of the river before we hit the canals. The furthest north we've planned for, or thought about is "Oxford". Definitely want to go that way, as opposed to downstream and onto the GU. When we can actually do it, is all still up in the air.

  3. The Thames past oxford towards Lechlade is absolutely lovely, and plenty of Bends to steer around :) You'll also go past were I used to be moored - Port Meadow, a lovely lovely place. The Oxford canal is very easy to get onto from the Thames, and if you're going up to Lechlade you might as well join the Oxford Canal at Dukes Cut (rather than come back to Isis Lock), but it depends if you want to do the "Entire" of the Canal.

  4. Hola mate.

LOL? From the map in Nicholsons, Isis lock looks like a 90 degree right hander, followed by an immediate 90 degree left hander. I'm sweating about it already, and I haven't even seen it. Dukes cut sounded more forgiving. Not too fussed about doing the entire length of the Oxford. Figure we will see it when we come back down to the river.

    Twisty bend practice = good.

Remember you're welcome, anytime. Fancy a day out? Give us a shout.

Hahah, yeah it's a little bit like that, but the map makes it look a lot worse than it is!

But Dukes Cut is a doodle, and quite interesting as you sort of head on a backwater from the thames, it's quite interesting.

definitely. I've learned a ton of stuff since you were last here. Any opportunity to take the boat out, and I will. Looking forward to it..
